Navionics Mobile Android SDK

Overview

The Navionics Mobile SDK for Android allows you to add Navionics cartographic data to your application.
The SDK handles map display, including user gestures such as pan, pinch and tap.
Using overlay objects such as markers, circles, polylines or polygons, you can add your own content to the map.
In addition, it provides APIs to use some services based on cartographic data.
You can get the details of the POIs visible on the map or search for them worldwide using the search feature.

Supported Platforms

With the Navionics Mobile SDK for Android, you can build apps that target native 32-bit or 64-bit devices running Android 4.1 (API level 16) and later.
Developing an application with the Navionics Mobile SDK for Android requires Android SDK with a target SDK 26.

Mobile SDK Enrollment

Step 1: Developer Program Application

The information provided through the application form will be used to evaluate your app as a candidate for our Developer Program.

Step 2: Waiting for Assessment

Once the form is submitted, one of our associates will contact you to assess your app and formulate a proposal for you. At the end of this step, you will receive a contract to sign.

Step 3: Approval

At this point,  you are ready to start with the development of  your application and integrate it with Navionics cartography.

In order to allow your App to exploit Navionics Services,  you will need to go through the configuration of a Sandbox Token in to the Mobile SDK.  This will allow you to test the behavior of your App, during its development phases, with a subset of the official Navionics cartography.

In case of specific needs, You can also ask Navionics to provide you with additional cartography resources  like small area with real nautical data or testing authorized user.  We will be glad to evaluate your request.

We will be glad to be part of your Beta program to see your progresses in integrating the Navionics SDK.

Step 4: Releasing your App on the market

Before going live with your App,  you will need to replace the Sandbox Token with the Production Token in order to get the full power of Navionics Data.
